From May 21st to October 13th\, 2025\, Barn Gallery throws open its doors to a season of captivating exhibitions showcasing the finest works by juried OAA artists. \nBut the journey doesn’t end there: Delve deeper into the world of art with engaging programs that explore the creative process and ignite your own artistic spark. Unleash your inner artist with hands-on workshops and demos. Whether you’re a seasoned creative or just starting your artistic journey\, find inspiration and guidance at the actual place where Maine’s enviable artistic roots run the deepest. \nOPENING EXHIBITIONS: This exciting new season of art exhibitions and programs by artists of the Ogunquit Art Association begins with their Opening Exhibitions — running Wednesday\, May 21st through Saturday June 21st (with a Gala Reception on Saturday\, May 24th from 4-7 PM). There will also be a Gallery Talk with showcase artists Photographer Karen Bushold & Printmaker Carol Travers Lummus on Thursday\, June 5th at 6pm. \nBarn Gallery is located at 3 Hartwig Lane in Ogunquit\, Maine — at the corner of Shore Road & Bourne Lane. \nAdditional Information About the Opening Exhibitions at Barn GalleryRECEPTION: Join us on Saturday\, May 24th 2025 (from 4-7 PM) for our “Gala Reception for Opening Exhibitions”. Admission to the Reception is FREE. \nBarn Gallery will show the work of Artist Members of the OAA (painters\, graphic artists\, photographers\, and sculptors) in our big\, bright\, cool\, and airy spaces. \nThe Sculpture Court will show work of the OAA Sculptors as well as the work of Invited New England Sculptors \nOur Opening-Season Exhibitions will feature: “OAA Expressions” (an exhibition with a wide variety of subject and medium); OAA Artist Showcases by Photographer Karen Bushold & Printmaker Carol Travers Lummus; our Expanded Collectors Gallery (featuring ready-to-hang artwork\, no larger than 16×20 — and all priced no higher than $850); plus an Invited New England Sculptors exhibit in our outdoor Sculpture Court. \nAlthough there is no substitution for seeing art in person\, we are pleased to announce that virtual versions of our exhibitions will be made available on barngallery.org. DESCRIPTION:Performing in Ogunquit for the first time ever\, Zahili Zamora and her Afro Cuban Jazz Trio promise a unique and unparalleled jazz experience. \nMs Zamora and her Trio have headlined such venues as the landmark Scullers Jazz Club in Boston\, the Monterey Jazz Festival\, the Celebrity Series of Boston\, the Montreal International Jazz Festival\, and many more. \nBarn Gallery is located at 3 Hartwig Lane in Ogunquit\, Maine — at the corner of Shore Road & Bourne Lane. \nAdditional Information About: Ogunquit Performing Arts presents Zahili Zamora Afro Cuban TrioMs Zamora’s awards include: the Duke Ellington Award\, the Wayne Shorter Award\, the 40th Annual DownBeat music Award in the Outstanding Performance Category\, Finalist at the DC Jazz Prix Competition\, and with her Trio MIXCLA\, a two time nominee for the Boston Music Awards in the Jazz Group category. \nA pianist\, composer\, bandleader\, arranger and educator\, Ms Zamora started playing piano at the age of six\, in her birthplace of Manzanillo\, Cuba\, where she graduated from the National School of Music\, as a classical pianist\, with a performance diploma. Emigrating to Canada\, she explored a wide range of musical genres such as traditional Ecuadorian\, French\, and South African\, and then to Asia for 6 years\, where she even performed with a pop band. \nDiscovering Jazz\, she returned to school in the U.S. to study at the Berklee College of Music\, immersing herself in the study and analysis of jazz performance and composition\, and falling in love with the process of creating. She graduated summa cum laude with a dual MM degree in Jazz Composition and Jazz Piano Performance. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Piano Department. \nThis rich musical background\, career experience and extraordinary improvisation skills\, render her a leader in the modern jazz idiom and an influential and emulated musician. \nShe describes the evolution of her artistic identity as a Latin Jazz pianist\, singer\, bandleader and composer\, through reconnecting with her Cuban roots\, and using elements of her rhythmic idiosyncrasy with American jazz\, while adding and developing skills to encompass her artistry. She describes her music as representing multiculturalism and global unity in these times when there is so much division and oppression. \nPlease join us to experience this enormous talent\, in an Ogunquit premiere performance.
