Whether you’re a seasoned creative or just starting your artistic journey\, find inspiration and guidance at the actual place where Maine’s enviable artistic roots run the deepest. \nMID-SEASON ART EXHIBITIONS: The 2025 season of art exhibitions and programs by artists of the Ogunquit Art Association continues with their Mid-Season Exhibitions — which include the annual “Regional Artists: An Open\, Juried Show” (download prospectus here) — running Wednesday\, June 25th through Saturday July 26th (with a Gala Reception on Saturday\, June 28th from 4-7 PM). \n***NOTE*** Our Open\, Regional\, Juried show is all in-person: no pre-registration\, nothing e-mailed in ahead of time. Just show up on June 22\, 1PM – 4PM (or send someone in your place) with your one or two submissions and payment of $20.00 each. If you can pre-print and fill out your form\, great. If you don’t have a printer\, we will have extra forms on site. Cash and checks make things faster but we can also take credit cards. For additional information please refer to the prospectus. \nBarn Gallery is located at 3 Hartwig Lane in Ogunquit\, Maine — at the corner of Shore Road & Bourne Lane. \nAdditional Information About the Mid-Season Art Exhibitions at Barn GalleryRECEPTION: Join us on Saturday\, June 28th 2025 (from 4-7 PM) for our “Gala Reception for Mid-Season Art Exhibitions” at Barn Gallery in Ogunquit\, Maine. Admission to the Reception is FREE. \nBarn Gallery will show the work of Artist Members of the OAA (painters\, graphic artists\, photographers\, and sculptors) in our big\, bright\, cool\, and airy spaces. \nThe Sculpture Court will show work of the OAA Sculptors as well as the work of Invited New England Sculptors \nOur Mid-Season Exhibitions will feature: “OAA Expressions” (an exhibition with a wide variety of subject and medium); Regional Artists: An Open\, Juried Show (This annual exhibition continues to uncover and promote the finest emerging talents alongside established artists from throughout New England. The 2025 iteration will be juried by Véronique Plesch\, Professor of Art History and Chair of the Art Department at Colby College\, and Editor of The Maine Arts Journal: UMVA Quarterly. Problem Solving Through Still Life Practice with Oil or Acrylics” workshop (from 10AM-3PM)led by Ogunquit Art Association artist-member Jayne Adams. \nSuggested Workshop donation: $75 \nNOTE: Space available. Pre-registration is highly recommended. \nPRE-REGISTER TODAY: Call Barn Gallery to register now: 207-646-8400. \nAdditional InformationCome join professional artist + educator Jayne Adams as she presents a  painting workshop focused on problem solving through still life practice with oil or acrylics. \nSearch composition with quick studies and apply designs to a larger surface space. A visual artist since early childhood\, she was greatly influenced by her high school instructor\, Robert Hughes. At age 16\, she attended summer sculpting workshops at the White Mts. Festival of the Arts in the mountain valley of Jefferson\, NH. There\, she worked alongside Hughes\, Jean Bartolli\, Cabot Lyford\, Winslow Eaves\, visiting artists from Montreal\, and many others.This was an invaluable experience which hooked her to a life of artistic discovery and exploration.  \nJayne received her BFA from the University of NH in painting and continued her figure study with several groups working with the model. \nJayne was the recipient of 3 Currier Gallery of Art awards through the NH Art Association and the Currier Museum\, the Lacroix Award for painting\, the Holland Sister’s Award and others. Her work has been exhibited throughout New England and is in numerous private collections in the US and Canada. She is an active member of the Ogunquit Art Association\, Ogunquit\, ME. \nAffiliations: Bowersock Gallery\, Provincetown\, MA (2009-present); The Ogunquit Art Association with summer exhibits at the Barn Gallery\, Ogunquit\, ME (1999-present); Maine-Art Gallery\, Kennebunkport\, ME (2010-2014); The NH Art Association and the R. L. Levy Gallery\, Portsmouth\, NH (1992-2008); Arrival Art Gallery\, Kennebunkport\, ME (1995-98). \nAlongside her studio work\, Jayne has worked full time as a professional picture framer\, and an art instructor\, having taught students of all ages.
