DESCRIPTION:MID-SEASON EXHIBITIONS: This exciting new season of art exhibitions and programs by artists of the Ogunquit Art Association continues with their Mid-Season Exhibitions — which include the annual “Regional Artists: An Open\, Juried Show” (download prospectus here) — running Wednesday\, June 24th through Saturday July 25th (with an Opening Reception on Saturday\, June 27th from 4-7 PM). \nBarn Gallery is located at 3 Hartwig Lane in Ogunquit\, Maine — at the corner of Shore Road & Bourne Lane. \nAdditional Information About the Mid-Season Exhibitions at Barn GalleryRECEPTION: Join us on Saturday\, June 27th 2026 (from 4-7 PM) for our “Opening Reception for Mid-Season Exhibitions”. Admission to the Reception is FREE. \nBarn Gallery will show the work of Artist Members of the OAA (painters\, graphic artists\, photographers\, and sculptors) in our big\, bright\, cool\, and airy spaces. \nThe Sculpture Court will show work of the OAA Sculptors as well as the work of Invited New England Sculptors \nOur Mid-Season Exhibitions will feature: “Ogunquit Art Association Members’ Show” (an exhibition with a wide variety of subject and medium); Regional Artists: An Open\, Juried Show (This annual exhibition is one of Barn Gallery’s most anticipated annual exhibitions. The Open\, Regional\, Juried Show brings together outstanding emerging and established artists from across New England. Juried selections are presented alongside OAA works and invited sculptors\, offering a dynamic and wide-ranging survey of contemporary regional art. The 2026 iteration will be juried by Pamela Moulton (Posey)\, a Maine-based environmental artist known for her large-scale installations made from salvaged materials and exhibited nationally and internationally. CLICK HERE FOR THE PROSPECTUS); our Expanded Collectors Gallery (featuring ready-to-hang artwork\, no larger than 16×20 — and all priced no higher than $850); plus an Invited New England Sculptors exhibit in our outdoor Sculpture Court. \nAlthough there is no substitution for seeing art in person\, we are pleased to announce that virtual versions of our exhibitions will be made available on barngallery.org. SUMMARY:Plein Air Painting Workshop at Robert Laurent’s Studio with Russel Whitten
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, July 11th\, 2026 (from 10 AM – 4 PM) for this exciting off-site Plein Air Painting workshop led by Ogunquit Art Association artist-member Russel Whitten.\n \nSuggested donation $75 \nLocated at Robert Laurent’s farm studio in Cape Neddick (Deidre O’Flaherty will meet participants at Barn Gallery and give the directions)\, this class will provide training in the direct observation of form and its surrounding elements. \nJoin Russel for a full day ‘en plein air’ in this watercolor workshop at the historic estate and studio site of the late Robert Laurent. \nThe beautifully maintained and privately owned property will provide the inspiration and be the subject matter for the day’s lesson. \nDirect observation and how we re-create natural elements with the use of watercolor.  Understandings of color\, value\, perspective and technique will all be demonstrated and geared towards the individual’s needs. \nA materials list will be sent at your request. \nPreregistration suggested. Call Barn Gallery: 207.646.8400. \nAbout The Workshop Instructor: Russel WhittenRussel Whitten studied art at Maine College of Art\, Heartwood College of Art and the Art Students League of New York. He is a member and exhibiting artist with the Ogunquit Arts Association/ Barn Gallery and The Wright Gallery in Cape Porpoise. His painting experience include scenic artistry in theater painting at the Ogunquit Playhouse\, Good Theater in Portland Maine and Prescott Park \, Portsmouth NH.
