DESCRIPTION:MID-SEASON EXHIBITIONS: This exciting new season of art exhibitions and programs by artists of the Ogunquit Art Association continues with their Mid-Season Exhibitions — which include the annual “Regional Artists: An Open\, Juried Show” (download prospectus here) — running Wednesday\, June 24th through Saturday July 25th (with an Opening Reception on Saturday\, July 27th from 4-7 PM). \n***NOTE*** Our Open\, Regional\, Juried show is all in-person: no pre-registration\, nothing e-mailed in ahead of time. Just show up at Barn Gallery on June 21\, 1PM – 4PM (or send someone in your place) with your one or two submissions and payment of $20.00 each. If you can pre-print and fill out your form\, great. If you don’t have a printer\, we will have extra forms on site. Cash and checks make things faster but we can also take credit cards. For additional information please refer to the prospectus. \nBarn Gallery is located at 3 Hartwig Lane in Ogunquit\, Maine — at the corner of Shore Road & Bourne Lane. \nAdditional Information About the Mid-Season Exhibitions at Barn GalleryRECEPTION: Join us on Saturday\, June 27th 2025 (from 4-7 PM) for our “Opening Reception for Mid-Season Exhibitions”. Admission to the Reception is FREE. \nBarn Gallery will show the work of Artist Members of the OAA (painters\, graphic artists\, photographers\, and sculptors) in our big\, bright\, cool\, and airy spaces. \nThe Sculpture Court will show work of the OAA Sculptors as well as the work of Invited New England Sculptors \nOur Mid-Season Exhibitions will feature: “Ogunquit Art Association Members’ Show” (an exhibition with a wide variety of subject and medium); Regional Artists: An Open\, Juried Show (This annual exhibition is one of Barn Gallery’s most anticipated annual exhibitions. The Open\, Regional\, Juried Show brings together outstanding emerging and established artists from across New England. Juried selections are presented alongside OAA works and invited sculptors\, offering a dynamic and wide-ranging survey of contemporary regional art. The 2026 iteration will be juried by Pamela Moulton (Posey)\, a Maine-based environmental artist known for her large-scale installations made from salvaged materials and exhibited nationally and internationally. CLICK HERE FOR THE PROSPECTUS); our Expanded Collectors Gallery (featuring ready-to-hang artwork\, no larger than 16×20 — and all priced no higher than $850); plus an Invited New England Sculptors exhibit in our outdoor Sculpture Court. \nAlthough there is no substitution for seeing art in person\, we are pleased to announce that virtual versions of our exhibitions will be made available on barngallery.org. SUMMARY:Mixed Media Workshop: Bands of Color in Watercolor and Collage with Ethel Hills
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Barn Gallery in Ogunquit\, Maine on Tuesday\, July 21st\, 2026 for a “Mixed Media Workshop – Bands of Color in Watercolor and Collage” (from 10am – 3pm) led by Ogunquit Art Association artist-member Ethel Hills. \nSuggested Workshop donation: $75.00. \nAdditional InformationCome join accomplished artist + educator Ethel Hills as she presents a workshop focused on “Bands of Color in Watercolor and Collage”. \nEnjoy an art play day and learn a new technique. \nWe’ll be making small colorful abstract landscapes that celebrate your spirit. \nOne of the fun pieces of this experience is using bits and pieces of old paintings to help create new paintings. \nAlthough watercolor will be our primary painting medium\, we’ll be using some less traditional papers along with straight watercolor paper. \nAll skill levels are welcome. \n\nWorkshop: Bands of Color in Watercolor and Collage (w/ Ethel Hills)\n\nTuesday\, July 21st (10am – 3pm)\nSuggested donation: $75\n\n\n\nPre-registration recommended. Call Barn Gallery: 207-646-8400.  \nAbout The Workshop Instructor: Ethel HillsEthel Hills grew up amidst the orchards\, fields and hills of Hollis\, New Hampshire. While completing her B.A. at the University of New Hampshire\, she fell in love with the marshes and beaches of the seacoast region and eventually settled in Hampton. \nWhile working traditional clerical jobs\, she explored her creativity through needlework\, photography and rug hooking. Interest in developing her own rug designs brought her to a drawing class and the beginning of a love of drawing and painting. To improve her skills\, she actively pursued her study of art\, including traditional art courses at the University of New Hampshire and the New Hampshire Institute of Art. \nHills has been painting seriously for more than thirty years and is currently pursuing her art career from her studio at Lane House Arts Center in downtown Hampton. She is an active member of the Ogunquit Art Association\, New Hampshire Art Association\, the Abstract Artists Group of New England\, Women’s Caucus for Art\, and Newburyport Art Association.
