My prints focus on subjects and details that are often overlooked but can reveal fresh juxtapositions that challenge our first look and make us take a second.” \nSee an Ogunquit Art Association interview with Karen Bushold: CLICK HERE! \nLEARN MORE: busholdphoto.com \nAbout Carol\, Travers Lummus – PrintmakerARTIST STATEMENT: Carol Travers Lummus\n“One of the most difficult assignments for me to do is to explain what I do. I can readily explain the technique (the process of etching which can be found at my website)\, alas\, for me to explain the meaning of my work is like asking an author to draw a picture describing his novel … like asking a daisy to explain horticulture. With my line work\, I take spaghetti for a walk. That is when I am in my zone. Hal La Croix\, of Peterborough\, described my work as having a “warmth and spirit that forms coy statements on social conventions” and “refreshingly devoid of self-conscious artistic pretense.”” \nSee an Ogunquit Art Association interview with Carol\, Travers Lummus: CLICK HERE! \nLEARN MORE: carollummus.com \nBarn Gallery 2026: Exhibitions\, Gallery Talks\, Workshops\, Demos\, Auction\, More…Learn more about the Barn Gallery 2026 Schedule: barngallery.org/2026-season \nLEARN MOREConnect With #BarnGallery on Instagram\n\n	\n	\n \n	\n \n You're invited to the Opening Reception at Barn Ga\n \n \n	\n\n	\n \n Join us at Barn Gallery in Ogunquit\, Maine on Thur\n \n \n	\n	\n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n Follow on Instagram

Emigrating to Canada\, she explored a wide range of musical genres such as traditional Ecuadorian\, French\, and South African\, and then to Asia for 6 years\, where she even performed with a pop band. \nDiscovering Jazz\, she returned to school in the U.S. to study at the Berklee College of Music\, immersing herself in the study and analysis of jazz performance and composition\, and falling in love with the process of creating. She graduated summa cum laude with a dual MM degree in Jazz Composition and Jazz Piano Performance. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Piano Department. \nThis rich musical background\, career experience and extraordinary improvisation skills\, render her a leader in the modern jazz idiom and an influential and emulated musician. \nShe describes the evolution of her artistic identity as a Latin Jazz pianist\, singer\, bandleader and composer\, through reconnecting with her Cuban roots\, and using elements of her rhythmic idiosyncrasy with American jazz\, while adding and developing skills to encompass her artistry. She describes her music as representing multiculturalism and global unity in these times when there is so much division and oppression. \nPlease join us to experience this enormous talent\, in an Ogunquit premiere performance. It will blow your musical mind! \nWe are pleased to welcome our local friends and visitors back to the beautiful Barn Gallery\, which has stepped up once again to offer an alternative venue during the repair\, planned renovation and construction of our new municipal building and S. SUMMARY:Ogunquit Performing Arts. Boston Chamber Music String Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the Marginal Way Centennial with the music of Haydn\, Mozart\, Puccini and Mendelssohn! \nIn recent years\, OPA’s Chamber Music Festival has featured an on-going partnership with Boston Chamber Music\, which every year puts together a special ensemble for the Ogunquit concerts\, unique to OPA. \nThe players this year include Omar Chen Guey\, violin\, Peter Sulski\, violin\, Noriko Futagami\, viola\, and David Russell\, cello – three of whom have played for OPA before\, with Ms. Futagami making her Ogunquit debut. \nBarn Gallery is located at 3 Hartwig Lane in Ogunquit\, Maine — at the corner of Shore Road & Bourne Lane. \nAdditional Information About: Ogunquit Performing Arts. Boston Chamber Music String QuartetBoston Chamber Music’s program this year will feature Haydn’s String Quartet No. 63 in B♭major\, Op. 76\, No. 4\, (the Sunrise Quartet)\, a piece which evokes the rising of the sun and the stirring awakening of nature. It was selected by Boston Chamber Music as a fitting tribute to the Marginal Way Centennial\, which this year marks 100 years since the deed of gift of the scenic cliff walk to the town of Ogunquit by Josiah Chase. \nThe Haydn quartet is nicknamed “Sunrise” due to the rising theme over sustained chords that begins the quartet\, and is perhaps the most magical in all Haydn. Featuring rising themes throughout\, it combines earthiness with sophisticated development\, blending Hungarian or Balkan folk music with the composer’s natural elegance. \nBCM’s program will also include Mozart’s Quartet in Eb Major\, K. 171 (the Viennese). Written in 1773\, the quartet represents a considerable advance from Mozart’s previous works and reflects the influence of Haydn. \nCrisantemi (Chrysanthemums)\, a haunting lovely elegy written by Giacomo Puccini in 1890 in tribute to the late Amadeo I of Spain. Puccini later incorporated the beautiful\, tragic melodies of this short piece into his first successful opera\, Manon Lescaut. \nMendelssohn’s Quartet in Eb Major\, Op. 12 concludes the program. This masterfully composed quartet of 1829\, while still echoing the influence of Beethoven\, features stylistic and lyrical departures from that influence as Mendelssohn continued to develop as a composer. \nJoin us for this final chamber music concert of the season\, as these wonderful artists bring this superlative program to Ogunquit audiences! \nPRICE: $20 in advance\, $25 at the door (cash or checks only). Wine Reception to meet the artists follows the concert. Free parking at the Barn Gallery. \nLEARN MORE + BUY TICKETSBarn Gallery 2026: Exhibitions\, Gallery Talks\, Workshops\, Demos\, Auction\, More…Learn more about the Barn Gallery 2026 Schedule: barngallery.org/2026-season \nLEARN MOREConnect With #BarnGallery on Instagram\n\n	\n	\n \n	\n \n You're invited to the Opening Reception at Barn Ga\n \n \n	\n\n	\n \n Join us at Barn Gallery in Ogunquit\, Maine on Thur\n \n \n	\n	\n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n Follow on Instagram

SUMMARY:Marginal Way Committee Centennial Talk: “A World on the Wing\,” Scott Weidensaul
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, June 26\, the Marginal Way’s Centennial Talk series concludes with “A World on the Wing\,” a talk by acclaimed ornithologist and Pulitzer Prize finalist Scott Weidensaul at Barn Gallery in Ogunquit\, Maine. His 7 p.m. presentation will describe the science and wonder of global bird migration – “the navigational and physiological feats that enable birds to cross immense oceans\, fly above the highest mountains\, or remain in unbroken flight for months at a stretch.” \nBarn Gallery is located at 3 Hartwig Lane in Ogunquit\, Maine — at the corner of Shore Road & Bourne Lane. \nAdditional Information About the Marginal Way’s Centennial Talk at Barn GalleryWeidensaul\, who has tracked birds since his youth\, now contributes to research using miniature tracking devices and global datasets such as Cornell’s eBird. His current work with the Motus Wildlife Tracking System reveals real-time migratory patterns—even for hummingbirds and dragonflies. \nBirds are what connected Weidensaul to Marginal Way. His first visits to Ogunquit were with “birding friends who knew it well\, watching harlequin ducks and loons on blustery late-winter days.” \nWhat advice does Weidensaul have for those entrusted to care for the Marginal Way? \n“Don’t let it become too tidy or manicured\,” he said. “If you do it will lose some of its charm but also its value as a habitat for all the small birds that use the thickets and nooks. Nature likes a bit of a mess.” \nSee barngallery.org for our full schedule of artist workshops\, demonstrations\, and additional gallery programs. \nAt A Glance:\nMarginal Way Committee Centennial Talk: “A World on the Wing\,” Scott Weidensaul\nDate/Time: Thursday\, June 26th\, 7 PM\nLocation: Barn Gallery\, 3 Hartwig Lane\, Ogunquit\, Maine (at the corner of Shore Road and Bourne Lane) \nBarn Gallery 2026: Exhibitions\, Gallery Talks\, Workshops\, Demos\, Auction\, More…Learn more about the Barn Gallery 2026 Schedule: barngallery.org/2026-season \nLEARN MOREConnect With #BarnGallery on Instagram\n\n	\n	\n \n	\n \n You're invited to the Opening Reception at Barn Ga\n \n \n	\n\n	\n \n Join us at Barn Gallery in Ogunquit\, Maine on Thur\n \n \n	\n	\n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n Follow on Instagram
