A visual artist since early childhood\, she was greatly influenced by her high school instructor\, Robert Hughes. At age 16\, she attended summer sculpting workshops at the White Mts. Festival of the Arts in the mountain valley of Jefferson\, NH. There\, she worked alongside Hughes\, Jean Bartolli\, Cabot Lyford\, Winslow Eaves\, visiting artists from Montreal\, and many others.This was an invaluable experience which hooked her to a life of artistic discovery and exploration.  \nJayne received her BFA from the University of NH in painting and continued her figure study with several groups working with the model. \nJayne was the recipient of 3 Currier Gallery of Art awards through the NH Art Association and the Currier Museum\, the Lacroix Award for painting\, the Holland Sister’s Award and others. Her work has been exhibited throughout New England and is in numerous private collections in the US and Canada. She is an active member of the Ogunquit Art Association\, Ogunquit\, ME. \nAffiliations: Bowersock Gallery\, Provincetown\, MA (2009-present); The Ogunquit Art Association with summer exhibits at the Barn Gallery\, Ogunquit\, ME (1999-present); Maine-Art Gallery\, Kennebunkport\, ME (2010-2014); The NH Art Association and the R. L. Levy Gallery\, Portsmouth\, NH (1992-2008); Arrival Art Gallery\, Kennebunkport\, ME (1995-98). \nAlongside her studio work\, Jayne has worked full time as a professional picture framer\, and an art instructor\, having taught students of all ages. Milliken\, co-owner of Barridoff Galleries in South Portland and President of the Maine Auctioneer Association (William J. Milliken\, Auctioneer\, Maine Lic. #AUC1627). He will preside over the bidding process for a diverse collection of artworks including paintings\, graphics\, photographs\, and sculptures by members of the Ogunquit Art Association – Maine’s Original Artists’ Group (est. 1928)! \nPREVIEW + PLAN AHEAD: The OAA Art Auction Preview is between Wednesday (July 30th) and Friday (August 1st) from 11 AM – 5 PM and then on Saturday\, (August 2nd) from 11 AM – 2 PM. Use this opportunity to preview the work! Pick an artist-designed bid card! Leave a Silent Bid! \nParticipating OAA artists\, many with national and international reputations\, have created original\, one-of-a-kind bid cards on sale at the Gallery for $30. A bid card purchase includes auction admission\, catalog and refreshments. Plain bid cards for admission are available for $20. Bid cards will be available for purchase at the gallery starting June 28\, and at the door on the day of the event. \nSome event parking is available in the Barn Gallery parking lot. Auction attendees are encouraged to carpool or park in the Obed’s Lane parking lot behind the Dunaway Center.
