In the scenic, coastal town of Ogunquit, Maine, where the Atlantic crashes against rugged cliffs and artists have long sought inspiration, Barn Gallery has evolved for nearly a century as a destination for artists and art lovers alike.
Since 1928, the Ogunquit Art Association (OAA) – Maine’s original and longest-running artists’ group – has remained fiercely dedicated to the unadulterated expression of creativity, untouched by passing fads or commercial pressures. This is where art is not just displayed but lived, where every brushstroke, chisel mark, and print carries the weight of nearly a century of passion and purpose.
From May 21 through October 13, 2025, Barn Gallery will once again open its doors, welcoming visitors into a season rich with bold exhibitions, hands-on workshops , and intimate encounters with the juried artists who make Ogunquit one of New England’s most vital art destinations.
Barn Gallery: Where Art Lives
Unlike traditional gallery experiences, Barn Gallery offers visitors something extraordinary: the chance to witness artistic creation in its natural habitat. “Here, you won’t just see art framed on walls,” explains Deidre O’Flaherty, President of the Ogunquit Arts Collaborative. “You’ll be afforded an abundance of opportunities to experience its creation firsthand – to engage with the minds behind it, discover compelling new works for your collection, and perhaps even uncover your own creative spark.” As both an exhibition space and educational hub, Barn Gallery embodies the authentic spirit of Maine’s art colony tradition while nurturing contemporary artistic practice.

2025 Season Highlights
The upcoming season will be one of Barn Gallery’s most dynamic yet, featuring:
- The 71st Annual OAA Art Auction (Preview July 30-August 2; Live Auction August 2): An undisputed cornerstone of Maine’s summer arts scene and the biggest annual art auction in Ogunquit. This adrenaline-infused evening regularly draws collectors and enthusiasts from across the Eastern Seaboard and beyond for an electrifying night of bidding on exceptional works.

In addition to the group shows, the 2025 lineup also includes artist showcases for Karen Bushold (photography), Carol Travers Lummus (printmaking), David Schneider (sculptor – a 50th Anniversary Show), Charles Cramer (painting), and Roland Salazar Rose (painting) demonstrating the remarkable range of contemporary artists working in Maine today. Additionally, Barn Gallery will be hosting memorial exhibitions for OAA artists Polly Moak, Paul Paris, and S. Patricia Benson.
- Open, Regional, Juried Show (Exhibition June 25-July 26; Gala Reception June 28, 4-7PM): This annual exhibition continues to uncover and promote the finest emerging talents alongside established artists from throughout New England.
