Barn Gallery is the enduring home of the Ogunquit Art Association (OAA) — Maine’s original artists’ group, founded in 1928 with direct lineage to the historic Ogunquit Art Colony.
NOTE: At present, Barn Gallery is closed for the season. We are open from mid-May through mid-October (see the early version of our 2026 schedule below)
Since its inception, the Ogunquit Art Association has existed for a single purpose: to support serious artistic practice. We operate on a simple premise: to support our juried member artists and engage a discerning public through a rigorous exhibition program and direct artist-led dialogue. The legacy of the Ogunquit art colony isn’t a relic here—it’s a working methodology.
This focus makes Barn Gallery more than a traditional gallery; it’s a living, breathing workshop where you can connect with art in the making.
THE 2026 SEASON: FORTHCOMING
Our team at the Ogunquit Art Association is deep in the curation and planning of our 2026 exhibition calendar, artist demonstration + workshop slate, and our new member jury PLUS many other additional cultural events — including our annual OAA Art Auction. The full, detailed schedule will be published on this page once finalized — check back soon.

Barn Gallery: Where Art Lives
Unlike traditional gallery experiences, Barn Gallery offers visitors something extraordinary: the chance to witness artistic creation in its natural habitat. “Here, you won’t just see art framed on walls,” explains Deidre O’Flaherty, President of the Ogunquit Arts Collaborative. “You’ll be afforded an abundance of opportunities to experience its creation firsthand – to engage with the minds behind it, discover compelling new works for your collection, and perhaps even uncover your own creative spark.” As both an exhibition space and educational hub, Barn Gallery embodies the authentic spirit of Maine’s art colony tradition while nurturing contemporary artistic practice.

Why Barn Gallery in Ogunquit, Maine is a Must-Visit for 2026

2026 Season Highlights
Each year, Barn Gallery comes alive in step with the seasons — welcoming returning artists, new voices, and a growing sense of anticipation from spring through fall. The 2026 season continues this tradition with a thoughtfully-paced program celebrating artistic excellence, creative community, and one of Maine’s most enduring cultural institutions.
- 72nd Annual OAA Art Auction (Preview July 29–August 1 | Live Auction August 1): The cultural centerpiece of Ogunquit’s summer and the largest annual art auction in the town. This adrenaline-charged, must-attend, evening draws collectors and art enthusiasts from across the Eastern Seaboard and beyond for spirited bidding on exceptional works. Proceeds directly sustain the Ogunquit Art Association’s exhibitions, educational initiatives, and the preservation of this historic cultural institution.
- Rotating & Seasonal Exhibitions (May–October): A thoughtfully curated series of exhibitions featuring Ogunquit Art Association member showcases, invited New England sculptors, and seasonal rotations throughout the summer and fall. Together, these exhibitions highlight the depth, craftsmanship, and evolving practices of artists working in Maine and across the region.
- Open, Regional, Juried Show (June 24–July 25 | Reception June 27): One of Barn Gallery’s most anticipated annual exhibitions, the Open, Regional, Juried Show brings together outstanding emerging and established artists from across New England. Juried selections are presented alongside OAA works and invited sculptors, offering a dynamic and wide-ranging survey of contemporary regional art.
- New Member Jury Process Opens (Applications Due June 1): For the first time in several years, the Ogunquit Art Association will open its jury process for new members. This milestone initiative invites accomplished artists to apply for membership in one of Maine’s most respected art organizations, reinforcing the OAA’s commitment to artistic excellence and the continued vitality of its community.
- Artist Demonstrations & Workshops: From plein air painting to experimental printmaking techniques, and from bookmaking to Chinese ink painting – these hands-on sessions offer rare and direct access to master artists.
