Additional Information

Come join accomplished artist + educator Ethel Hills as she presents a workshop focused on “Color and Collage — A Fun Art Day”.
Ethel is a popular abstract artist working from her studio at the Lane House Arts Center in Hampton, NH. She is very involved in the Barn Gallery and adds color and light to everything she touches.
Color and Collage is a workshop that shares my own creative process with interested students. Please join me for a fun, creative filled art day where we will make small, colorful abstract landscapes that celebrate our personal style and spirit. Using old unsuccessful paintings as well as new pieces, we’ll take the old and make the new- transforming paper into fresh new artwork.
Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned artist looking for inspiration, this workshop is designed for all skill levels. Come for the fun, leave with art you love.
Ethel says “Sometimes we take our art too seriously. Not today. This workshop is as much about play and fun as it is about art. When you play, you learn. Come for the fun, leave with a new perspective.”

About The Workshop Instructor: Ethel Hills
Ethel Hills grew up amidst the orchards, fields and hills of Hollis, New Hampshire. While completing her B.A. at the University of New Hampshire, she fell in love with the marshes and beaches of the seacoast region and eventually settled in Hampton.
While working traditional clerical jobs, she explored her creativity through needlework, photography and rug hooking. Interest in developing her own rug designs brought her to a drawing class and the beginning of a love of drawing and painting. To improve her skills, she actively pursued her study of art, including traditional art courses at the University of New Hampshire and the New Hampshire Institute of Art.
Hills has been painting seriously for more than thirty years and is currently pursuing her art career from her studio at Lane House Arts Center in downtown Hampton. She is an active member of the Ogunquit Art Association, New Hampshire Art Association, the Abstract Artists Group of New England, Women’s Caucus for Art, and Newburyport Art Association. Her work has been included in the Biennial at New Hampshire Institute of Art, the Regional Juried Show at Newburyport Art Association, New Hampshire Art Association’s Currier Exhibition and Barn Gallery’s Regional Juried show in Ogunquit, ME.
