Artist Statement
Paul Klee once said, “Art does not reveal what is seen but rather makes the unseen visible.” The themes in my work aren’t consciously motivated, but the “unseen”—informed especially by my childhood influences and my experience of women’s changing roles during my lifetime—evolves along with each sculpture I create. I hope that my work offers viewers another way of perceiving reality—or at least a gentle, lyrical escape from the harshness of everyday existence.
