Since 2004, the Ogunquit Arts Collaborative/Barn Gallery has invited local artists who are not members of the Ogunquit Art Association to submit work for Regional Artists: An Open, Juried Show.
For a small fee, any artist can enter paintings, graphics, sculpture or photographs for review by our current juror. Our jurors have been museum directors and curators, gallery owners, art critics and other distinguished citizens of the art world.
The jurors arrive at Barn Gallery after artwork by members and non-members of the Ogunquit Art Association has been received, registered and spread out on the floor of the Main Gallery for viewing. Suspense mounts as rejects are moved to a separate gallery for later review and the juror continues choosing work for the show.
In 2019, 82 artists entered 157 works of art. The juror selected 84 pieces — 32 works by 26 members of the Ogunquit Art Association and 52 works by 40 regional artists.
Collectors, visitors to Ogunquit, and art lovers of all stripes were invited to meet the artists at a Gala Reception and to visit the show during its month-long run.
In 2023, we are delighted to once again offer area artists this opportunity to exhibit in our juried show at the prestigious Barn Gallery.
