There’s always something inspiring happening at Barn Gallery in Ogunquit!

Such was the case on June 16th, 2022, when the first Barn Gallery Talk of the year took place with Opening Exhibition Showcase Artists Rose Sielian Theriault (Painter/Printmaker) and Deloris White (Printmaker) PLUS host/moderator (and Ogunquit Art Association President) John Andrews.

This well-attended Gallery Talk presented the perfect opportunity for audience members to meet Sielian Theriault and White and learn about their work.

Andrews was excellent in his role as the moderator, prompting information from both the artists and encouraging the audience to ask questions.

There was a high level of specific interest in the processes that these two artists use, both for inspiration and for creation. There were also questions about how they work in series — and how they choose the media they utilize for implementation.

Valuable, engaging, and amusing stories were shared by Sielian Theriault and White about their experiences in art over the years and their long teaching careers.  During the 90+ minute talk, there was plenty of emphasis given to the importance of observation in the featured artists’ work and also their relationship with the subject matter.

Attendees engaged the artists individually after the more formal part of the talk. Visitors also took additional time to view the artists’ work up close and share discussions about it with each other.

In all: a great conversation about art-making, careers in art-teaching, the importance of multiple aspects of art in the lives of these two artists, and the joy that comes from it all!
