Barn Gallery was full again this weekend for the opening reception of our 2026 Late-Summer Exhibitions. Collectors, artists, and a good number of first-time visitors filled the rooms, glasses in hand, working their way from wall to wall. Some came for a particular artist, excited to see their latest work. Others were regulars and old friends — the faces you learn to expect at every Barn Gallery opening. A few had seen the announcement on social media or read about it in the local paper and decided it was finally time to walk through the Barn Gallery doors. And a handful wandered in off Shore Road, vacationing in Ogunquit and curious about the crowd spilling toward the sidewalk. By the middle of the evening it was hard to tell any of them apart.
That mix is what makes our exhibition openings so much fun. No trip to Ogunquit is complete without a visit to Barn Gallery, and a room this full — collectors next to first-timers, sculptors next to the people who buy their work — is what keeps the local arts community running through the year.
The Late-Summer Exhibitions themselves run through September 5 and include four distinct shows under one roof:
- The Ogunquit Art Association Members’ Show, with work from more than 75 juried members
- Solo showcases from Amy Hagberg and Carol MacLeod
- A group exhibition of invited New England sculptors
- Our Expanded Collectors Gallery featuring ready-to-hang artwork, no larger than 16″x20″, priced no higher than $850
